JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Technician role is to insure efficiencies of all required processes for the Production Departments.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Manufacturing Technician is part of the Operations Team in BSI and reports to the General Manager of the BSI facility and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and monitor production equipment to ensure proper operation including coordination with outside sources inclusive of label printers, assembly tools, hand and power tools, final test machines, parameterization tools and the like.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory for required production equipment.
  • Ensure scheduled PMs are performed on-time, and to process.
  • Capable in the operation of equipment like digital multi-meters (DMMs), static field meters, resistivity meters, power supplies, to complete specific tasks such as analysis, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Work with production personnel to develop simple manufacturing devices for a variety of purposes, primarily related to safety, ergonomic, process improvement, and new processes.
  • Person responsible to support design, break-down, and set-up of assembly cells and their related equipment.
  • Ensure general organization and cleanliness of assigned work areas.
  • Person responsible for maintaining the ESD program and ESD protected areas.
  • Person responsible to support Lean process flow of assembly areas.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates degree in electrical, mechanical or manufacturing engineering technology or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in manufacturing environment maintaining production equipment.
  • Knowledge of sensors, microprocessors, and PLC systems.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge/Skill of Electro-mechanical systems and manufactured product test equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills must be customer service oriented.
  • Ability to design and fabricate simple parts as needed.
  • Lean manufacturing experience in a manufacturing space required.
  • Computer skills: MS Office, SAP, etc.
