JOB SUMMARY

The Americas Region Transport Specialist will be responsible for managing activities focused on transportation operations and enhancing processes and solutions. This role requires a strong communicator with a thorough understanding of transportation/freight processes who will work both independently and collaboratively with other teams to implement transport initiatives for both the Americas region and Belimo Global Group.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Americas Region Transport Specialist is part of the Logistics/Customizing group and reports functionally to the Head of Group Transport Management and directly to the Americas Logistics Management team. This position bears full responsibility for all agreed upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executes global and regional freight/transportation tenders and negotiations for all transport modes together with Transport Manager and related functions.
  • Executes Quarterly Performance Reviews with respective logistics service providers and drive ongoing service level improvements in terms of cost, service performance and data accuracy. 
  • Supports internal functions (including US based procurement team and Global Procurement Logistics lead) in resolving transportation related issues across the Americas region, including damage claims. 
  • Manages transportation suppliers performance both operationally (OTD and financially ensuring spend is in line with budget and forecasts, and invoice accuracy via freight invoice audit. 
  • Develops and evaluates additional transport solution requests and suppliers as requested.
  • Continuously reviews and improves efficiency of internal transportation ordering and execution processes, eliminating waste, lowering total cost and improving overall performance.  
  • Supports and provides subject matter expertise in related Group Transportation development projects.
  • Maintains current knowledge of transportation markets, global trade/customs, dangerous goods restrictions, CO2e calculation principles and related transportation legislation.
  • Acts as Regional SAP TMS subject matter lead orchestrating application and maintains up to date Regional specific rates and routes within the TMS. 
  • Supports Regional and Local SAP TMS users as required in ensuring successful usage.

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelors degree required, ideally within Supply Chain Management or transportation related field  
  • 5+ years of experience in Transportation Management, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain functions
  • Experience with SAP 4/HANA and (SAP) Transport Management System strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel globally and regionally, 10 -15%
  • Good technical knowledge in the field of international transportation including sourcing, customs, operations/execution.
  • Good analytical skills, comfortable working with large data sets and related software packages.
  • Skilled at managing multiple and competing priorities; self-motivated with a high sense of urgency.
  • Sufficient seniority and effective communication skills to engage with senior management
  • Comprehensive market understanding and ability to advise internal Belimo customers in all related transport matters.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS product suite and transportation related technologies

The base pay for this position ranges from $85,000 - $95,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 10% of an employee’s annual base salary.
