JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Support Production Engineer will optimize test procedures and test equipment in collaboration with manufacturing, product development, and Production Engineering team in Switzerland.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Technical Support Production Engineer is part of the Project US Quality Management Team and reports to the Manager, Production Projects. This position bears full responsibility for all agreed upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On-time creation of test procedures for the automated end-of-line testers and programming units.
  • Support the maintenance team as 2nd level support for Production equipment in Danbury, Sparks and Hinwil. (maybe worldwide, e.g. P-Box)
  • Optimize test procedures and test equipment in collaboration with manufacturing, product development, and Production Engineering team in Hinwil.
  • Building up and maintaining knowledge of test sequences, product knowledge, SW tests and the core assemblies of the work equipment used in production.
  • Actively build up experience with internal units dealing with related topics
  • Support production engineering software team in the integration of new software into production systems
  • Ensure that the work equipment and the test programs
    • function in a process-safe manner.
    • are appropriately documented and changes are traceable,
    • and that knowledge is ensured
  • Actively participate in improving the First Pass Rate and process reliability of products, work equipment and processes
  • Helping to optimize production by means of appropriate processes and work equipment as well as user-friendly software
  • Project management or participation in interdepartmental tasks for the development of new or optimization of existing work equipment.
  • Assistance in the analysis and solution of quality cases
  • Coordination of cross-departmental tasks and projects
  • Coordination (technical) with local support in Hinwil and Customization Centers worldwide.
  • Ensure Deputy is adept and knowledgeable to cover vacation
  • Technical support of temporary employees and maintenance staff
  • Assist in technical definition of new testing and automation systems

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates or Bachelors in Electronics or Mechanics with a focus on Automation
  • Experience with LabView, PLC Programming, and/or Beckhoff (Twin CAT Structured Text) in industrial applications, or at least any other programming language to have general understanding programming code
  • Knowledge in test or automation systems (hardware or software)
  • Basic knowledge of IT networks
  • 5 years of work experience in related field
  • Production environment
  • Travel to Headquarters in Switzerland 2-3 times annually
  • German speaking a benefit

The base pay for this position ranges from $90,000 - $100,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 10% of an employee’s annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience.
