JOB SUMMARY

The Logistics Expeditor is responsible for ensuring appropriate coordination of internal logistics between internal and external customers.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

This position reports directly to the Logistics Manager or Regional Manager, Transportation & Trade. The Logistics Expeditor bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deadline & Quality Monitoring: Track and oversee shipment deadlines, quality standards, and operational activities within assigned responsibilities. 
  • Shipping & Export Documentation: Prepare comprehensive shipping and export documentation, ensuring accurate completion of Commercial Invoice, Shipper Letter Of Instruction, Country Of Origin and Free Trade Agreement documents. Ensure all shipping and customs documentation is accurately recorded and maintained in SAP. Adhere to all customs and international documentation requirements.
  • Export Compliance: Collaborate closely with Customs and Compliance Administrators to ensure full compliance with international export regulations and standards.
  • International Coordination: Support the International Customer Service team by coordinating internal logistics across departments to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of international orders.
  • Logistics & Service Provider Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation and logistics service providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective service.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Apply proper terminology and knowledge related to insurance, Incoterms, transportation, customs, and banking regulations. Ensure all documentation meets legal and regulatory standards.
  • Compliance & Process Adherence: Follow the Belimo International Compliance Manual to ensure processes and procedures align with organizational and regulatory standards across all departments.
  • Transportation Planning & Quoting: Obtain and evaluate transportation quotes that meet both cost and customer service requirements. Monitor and maintain the transportation schedule to ensure timely pick-up and delivery.
  • Shipment Support & Oversight: Provide guidance and support for employees involved in the physical preparation and dispatch of international shipments. Ensure all shipments are built and documented correctly.
  • Training & Cross-Training: Participate in and support training efforts related to international shipping. Promote cross-training to ensure team flexibility and operational continuity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and implement improvements in workflows, processes, procedures, and documentation. Support lean initiatives and efficiency optimization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in international logistics.
    • Background in international manufacturing environments.
    • Proven ability to work effectively within a diverse workforce.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience with MRP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
    • Able to convey information clearly and collaborate across departments and cultures.
  • Decision Making & Time Management:
    • Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions under pressure.
    • Skilled in managing multiple priorities, working under tight deadlines, and demonstrating a proactive, self-motivated work style.
    • Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • High level of personal integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and monitoring skills.
  • Industry Awareness:
    • Knowledge of current industry trends, standards, and regulatory changes.
    • Familiarity with international shipping, trade compliance, and logistics best practices.
  • Languages:
    • Proficiency in a second language is a strong plus.

The base pay for this position ranges from $50,000 - $70,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 7% of an employee’s annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience.
