JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing tactical and administrative partnership on a wide range of initiatives to support the Belimo Americas group.  This role requires a self-motivated, forward thinking individual with ability to work well with others to accomplish goals and objectives.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The HR Generalist is part of the Human Resources Team, reports to the Human Resources Business Partner and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish a relationship of trust and understanding with managers and employees. Advises managers in the administration of progressive discipline and mediates performance discussions and/or termination meetings between managers and employees.
  • Conduct confidential investigations into complaints related to harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, misconduct, and policy violations.
  • Collaborate with the VP, HR Americas and HR Business Partner, legal counsel, and department heads on complex investigations.
  • Coordinate and support all immigration efforts for internal international transfers and travel for Belimo Americas.  Work with legal counsel to ensure all required paperwork is completed.
  • Interact with all levels of employees regarding human resources related questions within Belimo Americas.
  • Main point of contact for support of the Belimo Americas Canadian locations.  Must maintain a working knowledge of local Canadian Employment Standards based on our locations.  
  • Administer leave of absence for Canadian locations.
  • Working with the HR Business Partner, provides support for the US benefits program:
    • First point of contact for employee questions related to benefits
    • Works with the US benefits broker on complex questions
    • Maintenance of the Benefitfocus benefits platform
    • Assistance with open enrollment.  This can include implementation of new benefit programs or vendors, system support, employee communication or employee enrollment support.
    • Process 1095 forms
  • Administer Canada benefits program.  Along with the HR Business Partner and Canadian benefits broker, review benefits programs for best practices and costs.  Responsible to process monthly invoicing.
  • Conduct training with new managers on Belimo company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the corporate office and local managers to administer the employee survey (conducted every three years).  This includes facilitating employee participation.  
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented correctly and consistently.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.  Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Participates in HR audits as needed.  This includes maintaining and providing documentation for auditors.
    • ISO Audits, ICS Audits, Benefits Audits
  • Reporting as needed.  This can include internal Americas reporting, corporate reporting or governmental reporting.
  • Support on-going Human Resource projects to meet department goals and objectives.  This can include global projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  •   Bachelor’s degree in a related field required 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR Generalist role
  • HR Certification a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and HRIS skills, SuccessFactors a plus
  • Flexibility to support a three shift production facility.
  • Occasional travel to other Americas office locations.
  • Ability to communicate, organize and execute tasks timely
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
