JOB SUMMARY

The Design Drafter (apprentice) is responsible for preparing drawings and assist in providing mechanical and fabrication solutions.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Design Drafter (apprentice) position reports to the Manager, Customizing Retrofit and Industrialization. The employee bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Duties:

  • Produce detailed technical drawings using CAD software, reflecting design specifications.
  • Review and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and sketches to develop accurate drafts.
  • Collaborate with senior draftsperson to ensure accurate designs.
  • Update and modify existing drawings as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of all drafts and revisions to facilitate project tracking and communication
  • Review and maintain the Bill of Materials of assemblies for accuracy and correct disposition of inventory.

Other Duties:

  • Accountable for compliance with work time regulations and departmental processes in place.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment, housekeeping, clean and healthy area (HSSE).
  • Temporary assignments as floater in different assembly teams.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or in process of obtaining high school diploma with a GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or in a work study program as part of their school program.  Previous experience with AutoCAD software.
  • knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other relevant design tools.
  • software skills in MS Office.
  • 3D printing experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in both 2D and 3D drafting
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a professional manner.
  • Deal with time constraints and deadlines; prioritizing schedules and projects; self-actuated; sense of urgency.
  • Positive attitude with a disposition to learn and grow.
  • PC-Skills required
  • Average manual dexterity (Hand to eye coordination)
  • Mechanical ability necessary.
  • Must be able to lift to 40 lbs.

The base pay for this position ranges from $17 - $19 hourly. Belimo is committed to paying all employees in a fair, equitable and transparent manner. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience.
