JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Data Systems Engineer to design and implement a scalable data platform for storing, indexing, visualizing, and reporting on test lab data. This is a cross-functional role that blends data analysis, database engineering, and workflow automation to drive operational efficiency in our lab environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative engineering environment and has a passion for building robust data solutions from the ground up.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Data Systems Engineer is part of the Innovation Hub Americas Verification team (IHA-IV), reports to the Head of Verification Americas, and is fully responsible for agreed-upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Platform Development
    • Design and implement a backend data storage environment for raw and processed test data
    • Create standardized naming conventions and ingestion pipelines to store test data automatically
    • Develop REST APIs or other integration methods to extract data directly from test tools and systems
  • Front-End Interface Development
    • Build a user-friendly input interface for test lab personnel to search and filter test data using customizable fields
    • Enable search results to dynamically generate visual reports and dashboards using tools like PowerBI or Grafana
  • Automated Reporting & Visualization
    • Automate generation of reports and charts based on user queries and filters
    • Integrate dashboards and visual summaries directly into lab and team workspaces
  • Identify and automate repetitive test lab workflows that reduce manual effort
  • Support data-driven decision-making by enabling clean, fast access to test results and historical data
  • Collaborate with test engineers, software developers, and project managers to identify high-impact use cases for lab automation

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a hybrid data role (analyst, engineer, or scientist)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity in early-stage projects
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and REST API development
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Grafana, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL variants)
  • Experience working with raw data formats, data ingestion, and ETL pipelines
  • Ability to build intuitive front-end search/filter tools (web-based UI or app interface preferred)
  • Strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work autonomously with initiative and urgency
  • JIRA, Confluence, codebeamer (for documentation and agile tracking)
  • PowerBI, Grafana, MS Office 365 (for dashboards and reporting)
  • SQL, SAP, LabVIEW, Python (for data access, scripting, and integration)

The base pay for this position ranges from $80,000 -$100,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 10% of an employee’s annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience.
